You don’t have to just think, wonder or be curious anymore! BITSAA is delighted to announce the re-launch of its India e-store for the alumni. This time we partnered with GoUntucked to make a wide range of merchandise available to our Indian junta. All you need to do is visit http://www.bitsaa.org/?page=eStoreIndia

Going forward we will be updating the e-store on a regular basis, with new designs from various events from all the Indian campuses. We’ll also bring you regular news on design competitions. Winning designs from these competitions will be up on the e-store accompanied with the suitable merchandise for sale. So here’s an open invitation to all BITSians to visit our new e-store and check out our latest designs! We’ll appreciate your valuable feedback on how much you like the merchandise, how pleased you are with buying from the new Indian e-store, how we could improve and enhance the store to make your overall experience as rich as possible.

In the last year, Abhisheak Iyer created from scratch a global  team that organized the first-ever BITS Pilani Alumni Global Meet. He has influenced, “shaken” and earned numerous kudos worldwide from people across the board  and within BITSAA. Abhisheak’s network and personal relationships within the alumni leadership extend from Pilani to Palo Alto, from Hyderabad to Houston, from Delhi to Denver and so on. Continue reading

As the retiring Chief Operating Officer of BITSAA International, I have had the privilege of working with the cream of BITSians who are not just passionate & dedicated, but also selfless and highly capable. To start off one must realize, nobody in this organization gets paid, all are volunteers and are internally called BITSAA Leaders. The level of enthusiasm and dedication shown by the BITSAA Leaders will be at the same level as in any of the best organisations in the world, because each of the BITSAA Leaders are either already leading dynamic organisations or of the caliber to do so in future. Raju Reddy – What’s his story?

The Sainik Schools were conceived in year 1961, to identify and prepare children for entry into the National Defence Academy and Indian Naval Academy – India’s elite military schools. To foster a sense of teamwork and perhaps to promote a little bit of rivalry, there is a rolling trophy called the Defence Academy Trophy, which is awarded every year to the batch and school which sends the maximum number of boys to the NDA that year.

A certain Mr. Reddy was just one of hundreds of fathers in India who enroll their 10 year old sons in Sainik Schools every year, for a variety or combination of reasons – the recipe for making it to the armed forces is found there, a job in the armed forces is secure, the life is secure, it’s the only way to discipline the boy, great education, it’s great exposure in any case, and so on.
