BITS Alumnus Vijay Bajaj (’80) donates to the Department of CCTV
Realizing the need for more sophisticated video recording infrastructure in Pilani, BITS Alumnus Vijay Bajaj (1980-84) made a donation of $7000 to the Department of CCTV to purchase advance video cameras and other related equipment. The donation was made in memory of Mr. Rajendra Kumar Sahgal and this helped the Department of CCTV to purchase a technologically advanced camera which significantly eased the current process of recording videos in the Pilani campus and reduced delivery times.
Earlier, the CCTV department had to digitize and convert each video which was taken on borrowed cameras and the videos were of inferior quality. Thanks to Mr. Vijay Bajaj’s donation, this new investment greatly improved the efficiency of the CCTV department and the quality of the videos is a visual treat.

We were up in time for a morning shower, a proper breakfast and a leisurely walk to FD-II. The wiser ones knew this as common fresher behavior that lasted all the way up to the First Test Series. On this particular Wednesday morning, the front page of The Hindu screamed at us with pictures of two of the highest buildings in the world engulfed in smoke.
The event changed many lives around the world, in many ways. It was a while before we on campus got to know about Vamsikrishna Pendyala (’88), on board American Airlines Flight 11 that crashed into one of the twin towers. This tragedy of a life that came to an untimely end marked the start of a series of events that would transform every BITSian’s life. Continue reading
